Background Information:
This is my eighth year as a full time counselor at Gunston. Prior to coming to GMS, I had a long and varied career that included teaching environmental education, helping to run environmental organizations, and working as a business executive helping organizations function better. I have been a Little League baseball coach for 24 seasons. In my spare time I like to juggle, ski, hike, travel, hang out with my family and read. I am married and have two sons. One son is a senior in college and the other is a freshman in college.
Counseling Philosophy:
My goal as a counselor is to help students deal with all of the challenges that can get in the way of getting the most out of their middle school years. I want to support and help empower every student within the school as they work to tackle academic, social/emotional, and career readiness challenges they face. Middle school years can be fun but they also can be challenging. I want Gunston students to know that they can always turn to me for help, support, ideas, and guidance.
