Background Information:

I have been a school counselor at Gunston Middle School for 13 years. Before I became a school counselor for Arlington Public Schools, I taught Business Education for several years in middle school, high school, and a community college. Most of my teaching career was spent in Arlington Public Schools.

I am a native of Maryland where my parents, family, and friends reside. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family and friends; travel to new places and antique stores with my husband; go to concerts; make picture collages; watch classic TV comedies, attend my childhood church, and occasionally go ice skating.

Counseling Philosophy:

My goal as a school counselor is to provide the emotional support and solid foundation for students to pursue their academic, career, personal, and social goals. I believe that all students have unique abilities and talents. Adolescence is a time of exploration and discovery. As students move through adolescence, they may not always choose the right path; however, my role is to guide them down a path that leads to personal accomplishment, satisfaction, and happiness. As a school counselor, I appreciate the opportunity to be an influential part of their exploration.
