Thursday, April 2, 2020 was the official deadline for NJHS applications for potential new members. Well done if you got it in on time! I’m sure some of you had a big learning curve going digital. On time submission has been noted.

For those who were invited and did not yet submit, but are interested in participating with NJHS during your middle school years please complete the application ASAP and no later than April 16. Submit directly by e-mail to with all three parts together (application, essay, and e-mail teacher recommendations – if you didn’t get them before school let out). In the subject line write NJHS (your name). Send recommendation requests today. Teachers will be on spring break next week so expect replies April 13-15.

Current NJHS members, Service hours have been reduced from 20 to 10 for this school year.

If you received an invitation to apply for NJHS this 2019-2020 school year please scan and submit your application electronically to by 3:00pm on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

For the teacher recommendation forward an e-mail verification that you will request from the teacher at the same time or within the same document as your application.

National Junior Honor Society membership is by invitation, and is based on five tenets: scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Students are invited after 2nd quarter grades are posted. The induction of new members happens in May.Students must maintain a 3.5 (B+) GPA and perform 20 hours of community service over the year.
