National Park Service Oratorical Contest

Follow in the steps of famous orator, Frederick Douglas by learning to give one of Douglass’ speeches. The National Park Service, at the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site is having an Oratorical Contest for children ages 6 to 18 years old who are able to recite a Frederick Douglass speech of their choice.  The application deadline is November 22, 2023.

This would be a great opportunity for students to work on their public speaking, while learning the words of Frederick Douglass.
