Dear Gunston Middle School Families and Community Members,
It is an honor to continue serving as your principal as we begin the 2025–26 school year. At Gunston, we believe that we are influencers—our students are empowered to imagine and dream big as we support their strengths, talents, intellect, culture, and abilities to meet their diverse and unique needs. Our staff bring a wealth of skills, along with determination, care, and passion—all of which are essential to creating an excellent learning environment.
In alignment with Arlington Public Schools’ Strategic Plan, our focus this year remains on Student Academic Growth, Inclusion, Student Well-Being, and fostering a Student-Centered Workforce. My priorities remain steadfast: instilling a love of learning, preparing our students for success in the 21st century, and ensuring that our education is culturally responsive and inclusive.
As we move forward, my commitment is to continue building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners. I want every scholar at Gunston to feel seen, heard, and safe. Together, we will nurture both academic growth and social-emotional development, while celebrating the many contributions and unique gifts each student brings to our community every day.
To uphold educational excellence, we will collaborate closely with our talented administrative, teaching, and support staff, whose dedication and creativity drive our work. Together, we’re not just aiming for a successful year—we’re striving for a year filled with high energy, engagement, innovation, and joy. While the work will be challenging, it will also be rewarding, and we will make sure students and staff alike enjoy the journey.
We invite families to actively engage with our community through the Gunston PTA, Padres Latinos, GMS Volunteers, or the Family and Community Engagement Action Team. By joining these groups, you are helping us strengthen our legacy and ensuring that our students remain at the heart of everything we do. Please continue to look for updates and opportunities to connect on our website and social media platforms throughout the year.
