Frederick Douglas Oratorical Contest

Gunston Students Shine in Annual Contest!

Let’s give a big hornet Congratulations to: Emmanuella (6th), Isla  (6th), Ophelia (7th), Rafael  (7th), and  Marc  (8th).

They recently participated in the annual Frederick Douglass Oratorical Contest. These amazing Gunston scholars dissected, memorized, and recited 5-7 minutes of a speech by Frederick Douglass.  They had to perform for a panel of judges and their peers. They impressed us, the judges, and their families!

Please congratulate them when you see them.  And thank you to all who took time out of their day to help make this happen, Ms. Washington, Ms. Gollop, Ms. Carr, and Ms. Parquet.

Let’s have a round of applause for these five brave scholars and the adults.
