We’re proud to share that Gunston Middle School was highlighted in the May 2025 edition of the International Spanish Academy (ISA) Newsletter for our innovative approach to language learning!
Led by Spanish teacher María Leticia Delgado, students participated in a project titled “How Reading for Pleasure Supports Oral Communication.” Through interactive activities like “speed book chats,” “campfire circles,” and guided discussions, students explored self-selected texts while developing vocabulary, fluency, and confidence in speaking Spanish.
The project helped foster a love of reading and empowered students to express themselves in a fun, meaningful way—showing that learning a language can be both effective and enjoyable. We’re thrilled to be recognized for creating a classroom environment where students lead their own learning and grow as confident communicators.
