Spring Testing Information

Dear families:

We are preparing to administer the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. State assessments measure the extent to which students have learned the content and skills reflected in state standards. SOL content areas tested for each grade level are as follows:

• Grade 6: Reading and Math
• Grade 7: Reading, Math, and Civics
• Grade 8: Reading, Math, and Science

Please do not schedule time out of school for your student on their testing dates. It will help your student to perform at his or her best if he/she has a good night’s rest, a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time. Remind your student to have a fully charged iPad on test days.

Our testing calendar is as follows:

• April 24 Integrated Reading & Writing SOL (grade 8th only)
• April 30 NWEA Math (schoolwide)
• May 2 NWEA Reading (schoolwide)
• May 15 Reading SOL (schoolwide testing)
• May 21 Science/Civics and all 6 grade Math (schoolwide testing)
• May 23 7th and 8th grade Math
• May 28-31 Make ups
• June 4-7 Retakes
