Month of the Military Child

Purple Up!

In April, we honor and express our solidarity with military-connected students and their families during the Month of the Military Child. We acknowledge the distinct challenges they encounter, including frequent moves and periods of separation from family members, and we recognize the importance of providing community support.

Throughout the Month of the Military Child, we are excited to offer several events for our military-connected students to engage in:

  • Friday April 5: Meet and Greet in the Library
  • Thursday April 11: A moment with Mae Krier, one of the original Rosie the Riveters
  • Friday April 19: Purple Up! We encourage all students to wear purple and military-connected students enjoy lunch with a sponsor (Kearns, Beatty & Costner)
  • Friday April 26: Meet a local military member!

Watch our Superintendent, Dr. Duran’s message about how APS supports our military families.
